Science

Children have a naturally inquisitive mind and from an early age they aim to explore their surroundings from first hand experience. These observation skills are developed through practical activities and soon progress into more logical investigations. Children quickly learn to use their own knowledge to predict what might happen in an experiment.

The programme of study for Science in the national curriculum 2014 introduced new content for primary schools, more hard facts, scientific knowledge and scientific language. Our curriculum reflects these changes and ensures that pupils have fun while learning.

At Corsham Regis we use displays to celebrate children’s achievements and support their learning through the use of scientific vocabulary and prompts to stimulate their thinking. In the past we have held Science weeks to promote children’s awareness and enjoyment of the different aspects of the subject.

Take a look at the photos below to find out how we teach science at Corsham Regis.
