Children produce practical and creative solutions to real problems, through the investigation of technical understanding, design methods and making skills. We encourage them to investigate their environment and materials around them to equip them for living and working in a technical world.

The subject encourages children to become autonomous and creative problem-solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. As a school we will build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make high-quality prototypes and products for a wide range of users.  Children are encouraged to critically evaluate existing products, their own work and that of others.

Children will learn to cook a variety of healthy sweet and savoury dishes as well as developing an understanding of where the food they consume comes from and the seasonality of fruit and vegetables in Great Britain.
